When speaking to the club this week, Frank Lampard issued a positive injury update on several players. This comes ahead of what is arguably Chelsea’s biggest game of the season so far.
The Blues are currently sat in fourth place, three points ahead of Sunday’s opponents Tottenham Hotspur. Lose, and Chelsea will be overtaken by their bitter London rivals. Win, and the club will go six points clear going into Christmas.

It is more than just the three points though. Chelsea will be hugely keen to bounce back from a rocky period of results, whilst Tottenham will want to continue their recent good form under Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese manager brings with him a whole new level to the rivalry, after two iconic spells at Stamford Bridge.
For such a big game, it is important to have your top squad available. Lampard this week gave an update on a few players who have been struggling with injury. As reported on the club website, he said: ”Ruben’s making good progress which is really positive, but he’s nowhere near contention for match play yet.

”Other than that, we’re all pretty good. Ross, Tomori, and Giroud are fine. We’ve got a fit squad. Nice selection problems I suppose.”
Lampard has several key decisions to make before Sunday. After some poor recent results, will the Blue’s boss ring the changes, or will he stick to what he knows?
