Frank Leboeuf thinks Chelsea have done a brilliant job this week by confirming the signing of Christopher Nkunku.

It’s been the worst kept secret in the transfer media for over half a year, but the Blues announced on Tuesday that Christopher Nkunku is leaving RB Leipzig and moving to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The 25-year-old French attacker has signed a six-year deal at Chelsea, which begins on 1 July.

Now, the excitement can build around Mauricio Pochettino’s side signing a player who definitely knows where the back of the net is.

The forward scored 23 goals across all competitions last season. In comparison, no Chelsea player his double figures for goals in the previous campaign.

ESPN pundit and former Chelsea player Leboeuf is delighted to hear the Nkunku announcement:

“Christopher [Nkunku] is the kind of player who can bring something on the left side and come in the middle sometimes to score goals, but he’s not a typical striker,” Leboeuf told ESPN.

“He is a great signing, that’s for sure.”

The Telegraph has recently claimed that Chelsea officials believe that they have pulled off a great bit of business by signing Nkunku for £52million. In particular, they really like the France international’s versatility to play several attacking roles.

We tend to agree that this could be a great piece of business from the Blues!

If the Blues can sign a traditional No 9 to lead the line, Nkunku could be such a threat playing in any of the forward positions behind or alongside them.
