'Fuming': Some Chelsea fans react to Juventus's interest in Olivier Giroud
Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo has dropped a hint about their interest in Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, and some Chelsea fans are unhappy with the news.
With the January transfer window open, the 34-year-old’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain once again.
Despite his impressive goal-scoring form at the end of last season, Giroud found himself low down on the pecking order at the start of the 2020/21 season.
He was behind both Tammy Abraham and new signing Timo Werner.
But, similar to last season, Giroud fought his way back into the team. He scored seven goals from five starts in all competitions in December.
While Giroud has yet to cement his Chelsea spot, Juventus manager Pirlo opened up about his interest in the France international.
“He’d be handy,” Pirlo told DAZN when asked about Giroud (via Goal).
“The window opens tomorrow, we already discussed with the club what we want to do and if there are any opportunities.
“Maybe a striker that can rotate with our strikers.”
Unsurprisingly, some Chelsea fans want the club to keep the in-form goal-scorer and they had their say on Twitter.
