Gabriel Agbonlahor would like to see Chelsea or Tottenham Hotspur sign Brentford striker Ivan Toney.
Chelsea continue to be heavily linked with Ivan Toney and Gabriel Agbonlahor, speaking on talkSPORT (22/11/2023 at 08:58), says he can imagine the 27-year-old at Stamford Bridge.
At the start of the month, Sky Sports reported that Brentford want £100m for Toney in January but are planning to keep hold of him until the summer.
As well as the England international, Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is another name on Chelsea’s radar as they look to bring in a new striker.
Ivan Toney would score goals for Chelsea
Agbonlahor is confident that Toney would deliver for Chelsea and has urged the club to sign him.
On talkSPORT, the former Aston Villa striker said: “Ivan Toney, for me, Spurs or Chelsea. If Chelsea can work a deal, maybe a 10-year contract, they look to do their contracts long, but I could see him at Chelsea.
“I don’t think [Nicolas] Jackson’s the finished article that Chelsea need and Ivan Toney, imagine the goals he’d score at Spurs or Chelsea, top player.”

Would Ivan Toney really be able to deliver for Chelsea?
He should be able to. Twenty goals in 33 Premier League appearances playing for Brentford last season is really impressive.
In a team with better footballers, perhaps that number could even go up. Of course, it will be a different ball game playing for Chelsea.
Teams often just sit back and defend against them. Toney may not get as much space and clear-cut opportunities at Stamford Bridge.
Nevertheless, when you look at his game, the former Peterborough man looks like the perfect Premier League centre-forward. He is strong, dominant and was quite clinical last term. We are confident that he would be a success at Chelsea.
January is not quite here yet, though, and there is no guarantee that Chelsea are going to sign Toney, especially when his price tag could be £100m.
It means that until then, Mauricio Pochettino is going to have to rely on Nicolas Jackson, who has got the job done in the Blues’ last couple of fixtures. His goal made it 3-3 in Chelsea’s 4-4 draw with Manchester City, while his hat-trick against Tottenham Hotspur earlier this month gave his side all three points.
