Brennan Johnson may be one player for Chelsea fans to keep a close eye on in the final stages of the summer transfer window.
The Evening Standard reported this week that the Blues have held talks with Nottingham Forest about signing the Wales international this summer.

Those discussions centred on a potential swap deal involving Trevoh Chalobah. Chalobah is not keen on a switch to the City Ground. But it seems that Chelsea remain in the hunt to land Johnson.
Cascarino backed Chelsea target Johnson for big move
The report noted that his suitors believe that Forest could ultimately let him go for £40 million. And Chelsea are now considering a move after missing out on landing Michael Olise.

One former Blues player who may be delighted to see Mauricio Pochettino’s side target Brennan Johnson is Tony Cascarino.
The pundit previously predicted that the 22-year-old would move on to bigger and better things after he scored a brilliant goal in a draw between Forest and Everton last season.
“One of the classier players on the pitch was Brennan Johnson, who is getting better and better. If he keeps showing clinical finishing like that second goal into the top corner, then I think a lot of teams will be looking to sign him this summer,” he told The Times.
It certainly seems that the speculation concerning the youngster is now ramping up. And that often means that there is definitely something going on.
It may be that he soon commits his future to Steve Cooper’s side. But Forest have not had the easiest window. So talk of interest from clubs such as Chelsea may well leave him with plenty of food for thought.
And he would be an exciting addition. He played an important role in keeping his club in the top-flight last season, scoring eight times in the Premier League.
Johnson can play in a number of roles in attack. So Mauricio Pochettino would not be limited in how he could use him.
Missing out on Olise was a real disappointment. But bringing Johnson in instead would be a very decent way for the club to bounce back.
