'Good deal': Some Chelsea fans now want another one of their players to join Mourinho at Roma

Plenty of Chelsea supporters on social media urged Marina Granovskaia to give the green light for Ruben Loftus-Cheek to join Roma this summer.

A report today from Corriere dello Sport claimed that Jose Mourinho is interested in reuniting with the midfielder, following their spells together at Stamford Bridge.

Now, the Roma boss might be about to offer the 25-year-old another breakthrough, but this time to salvage his career rather than to kick-start it.

A large proportion of Blues fans felt the two potentially rekindling would be wise, especially from a Loftus-Cheek perspective.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Ruben to Roma?

Thomas Tuchel is yet to make a definitive decision on whether he wants the Englishmen around his squad this year or not.

After performing pretty well in pre-season, Loftus-Cheek failed to make the bench for either of the opening two Premier League fixtures.

He travelled to Belfast for the UEFA Super Cup final, yet was an unused substitute as Chelsea claimed penalty shoot-out prowess.

Unlike some players, he still has a shirt number assigned, which suggests there is a slither of hope for the academy prodigy.

However, with the talk of Saul Niguez possibly joining on loan, Loftus-Cheek might want to seek out other opportunities away from his boyhood club.

Roma have already raided Cobham once this summer, landing Tammy Abraham earlier this month for £34m (BBC).

Another who had been cast out to dry by Chelsea, Abraham proved on his Italian debut that there is always a silver lining over the horizon of South West London.
