Benfica’s Enzo Fernandez has reportedly been left agitated by the transfer saga involving a potential move to Chelsea.
Journalist Dean Jones has given an insight into what he was told about the story last night via a text message.
He’s shared that Benfica’s 21-year-old star is “pretty agitated” with his current club that they’re preventing a move right now to Stamford Bridge.

Enzo Fernandez left agitated
When discussing Enzo Fernandez, Dean Jones told The Football Terrace YouTube channel: “Look, I’ll take it on to where we are right now and what I’ve actually heard on this.
“I actually got a message last night, basically saying that the way this has all turned out has left the player pretty agitated. He’s frustrated at Benfica more than Chelsea and they have put him in a situation where he can’t leave.
“I don’t totally blame Benfica, if Chelsea have low balled them to this extent I can understand why they wouldn’t accept it. €85million isn’t what he’s costing, but I was surprised all along that over £100million for a central midfielder who is more defensive minded [was being talked about]. Nobody does that!”

How will Benfica cope during the second half of the season if their high-profile star is unhappy and part of their group?
Portuguese outlet Record reports that Benfica are holding firm now over demanding Chelsea to pay Fernandez’s £106million release clause in full. They’ve even turned down an offer from Chelsea of £79.5million, Hakim Ziyech plus David Datro Fofana and Andrey Santos on loan.
In our view, the Argentina international would be a significant addition to the group.
With the way Chelsea are spending money in the market during the past couple of windows, £100million-plus Fernandez doesn’t feel too out of place.
Hopefully, Benfica crack over the future of the magnificent World Cup winning midfielder.
