It is fair to point out that Graham Potter’s time at Chelsea certainly didn’t go to plan. However, the current West Ham manager could be about to massively help out his former employers.
Graham Potter, 50, became the Chelsea head coach in September 2022 when he signed a five-year deal but was sacked less than seven months into the job.
The Englishman really struggled to adapt to life at Stamford Bridge and imprint his style. Admittedly, he entered the club during a turbulent period when the ownership was overseeing drastic changes, so perhaps he deserves some leeway.

Last season, Potter hailed Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca for his influence on the current team. The Italian coach has certainly benefited from a stable environment at the football club that didn’t exist under several of his predecessors.

West Ham set sights on Raheem Sterling
According to talkSPORT, West Ham are among the teams now keeping tabs on Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling as a transfer target in the summer window.
It is understood that the 30-year-old winger, who spent last year on a season-long loan with Arsenal, is currently training at Cobham away from the first-team squad along with the group of players that the Blues are looking to move on.
The report explains that Chelsea want to offload Sterling this summer amid interest from West Ham, Fulham, Crystal Palace and Juventus. Apparently, the experienced winger had a great working relationship with Potter when he coached him at Stamford Bridge, plus the player would prefer to stay in London.

Graham Potter would be doing Chelsea a massive favour if West Ham sign Raheem Sterling
Sterling is expected to leave Chelsea before the summer window closes, but where will he end up going?
If Potter’s West Ham side agree to take the English wide man, it would be superb news for the Blues because he desperately needs a move.

Potter often praised Sterling and regularly picked him during their time together at Chelsea. It will be interesting to see if the duo are now reunited across London, where the Hammers are crying out for some quality signings.
While it would be great for Chelsea to offload Sterling, West Ham supporters may feel indifferent about a player who’s clearly on the decline. We’ve not seen him at his best since Manchester City sold him to the Blues in 2022.
If Potter convinces West Ham to sign Sterling this summer, we expect Chelsea fans may like him a little more two years on from his sacking.
