Journalist Florian Plettenberg has claimed that Josko Gvardiol has a release clause of £95m that kicks in in 2024.
The defender has been one of the hottest names on the transfer market, with Chelsea reportedly leading the race to sign him.
However, they are certainly not the only club interested in his services. Anyone who paid attention to the World Cup will be more than aware of the qualities he possesses on the biggest stage.

He enjoyed a dominant tournament as part of a Croatia team who registered another top three finish despite their relatively young period as a nation.
His performance against Belgium in particular really put him on the map as a top defender, while it only piled more misery on Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku.
Gvardiol release clause revealed
International manager Zlatko Dalic was as big a fan as anybody of him. He described him as ‘amazing’.
The Blues made an attempt to sign the young star before the season even got underway. They were reportedly close to agreeing a deal just days before the end of the summer transfer window.
They were unable to come to an agreement, however Plettenberg has now revealed the price they will have to pay in order to get the deal done.

He said: “Gvardiol news. He really has a release clause in 2024 in the range of €110m confirmed! First call via @YvonneGab.
“Gvardiol will become the most expensive defender of the Bundesliga. Pretty sure. But: Chances are good for Leipzig to keep him next summer.”
Staying at the Bundesliga side for longer will only increase interest in his services, with him being offered the opportunity to continue to improve at a very good level.
This may be why recent reports have claimed that Chelsea are trying to get a deal done quickly to sign the defender, in a similar way to how they’ve worked the transfer of Christopher Nkunku.
