Journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed that Moises Caicedo would love to move to Chelsea this month.
The Blues have been strongly linked with a move for the Ecuador international as they look to put the final touches on what has been a sensational January transfer window.
It has been reported that they have had a bid rejected by Brighton for his services, with the overachievers obviously not keen to lose him this month.
The 21-year-old has been crucial to their play this season. He has started near enough every game this season for the Seagulls.
This hasn’t put the Blues off a deal, with their interest firmly remaining in Caicedo despite Brighton reportedly placing a ludicrous £100m value on his name.
Jacobs has now claimed that there would likely be no issue discussing personal terms with the midfielder, because he is very keen on a move to Stamford Bridge.
Caicedo wants to move to Chelsea
He said: “Chelsea haven’t given up on Moises Caicedo. Brighton have had an offer rejected for Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara. If they sign him, there’s a feeling Caicedo could yet leave.
“An offer of £75m+ (or one with a strong structure for less) would still give Brighton a serious decision to make, especially with Caicedo extremely keen on the move. He’s very humble & focused, so will not force a transfer like Wesley Fofana, but he’d love a January move to Chelsea.”
Interest in bringing a midfielder in this week has not stopped with Caicedo.
There has been a lot of interest in Enzo Fernandez after his brilliant World Cup, however it looks as if they are going to fall short of what Benfica are looking for to sell.
It has also been claimed that they are upping their pursuit in Everton’s Amadou Onana, as they look to make the most of the chaos at Goodison Park.
