Gabriel Jesus is blown away by the quality of Brazilian prospect Endrick, who’s been linked as a transfer target for Chelsea.

Aged 16, Endrick is a rising talent in South American football that’s already receiving plenty of media attention.

The teenage centre-forward plays for top-flight Brazilian side Palmeiras. He’s featured in first-team squads for them without actually making his senior debut, but has been a goal machine at youth level.

The Athletic claimed in August that Endrick is a player on Chelsea’s shortlist of transfer targets. Also, Fabrizio Romano previously detailed that the Palmeiras youngster has a release clause worth €60million (£53million).

Gabriel Jesus blown away by Endrick

Jesus, who’s a Brazilian star in the Premier League for Arsenal, has given an interesting assessment of Endrick.

Jesus told ESPN: “I’ve been following Endrick a lot. During the time I was training at the Academy when I was coming back from injury, Ze Roberto introduced us. Then I saw him on the field… Wow, he’s a star! Phenomenon! He’s 16 now, right?”

It’s certainly high praise from someone with 56 Brazil caps.

Chelsea’s recruitment in the summer was largely centred around bringing in young emerging stars.

18-year-old Omari Hutchinson has been on fire sine his summer arrival, quickly becoming a key player and goalscorer for the Blues Under-21s team.

In addition, players like Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei and Gabriel Slonina are new young recruits that will hopefully break the first team in the future.
