Chelsea have reportedly put contract talks on hold with their forward Tammy Abraham – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter believe it’s a sign he’ll be leaving in the summer.

According to ESPN, the Blues have parked contract discussions with the 23-year-old until the end of the season.

The report explains that the club will review his situation in the summer, and adds that negotiations over a long-term deal last season stalled because of wage demands.

If you look at Abraham’s senior career at Chelsea so far, his numbers are strong.

He’s scored 30 goals in just 80 first-team appearances, and is one of several youngster to make the step up from the glittering academy to the senior group.

The English striker is currently sidelined through injury, but this season he’s scored 12 goals and set up six assists without earning widespread praise.

Abraham is a well-rounded attacker with pace, strength and energy, but some doubt whether he’s got the intelligence and potential to end up being an elite forward further down the line.

A selection of Chelsea supporters on social media feel that the club may look to offload him in the summer after reading the fresh report.

He’s still under contract with the Blues until 2023 and loves the club, but it’s unclear on if he can become a key player under manager Thomas Tuchel.
