Hakim Ziyech is apparently set on leaving Chelsea and joining Paris Saint-Germain on deadline day.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Ziyech ‘hopes to join’ the Ligue 1 leaders, with the player having ‘already accepted’ a move to France.

Chelsea and PSG are ‘still discussing’ the terms of the deal that would transport the Moroccan international over to Lionel Messi and co.

Ziyech has always been one of the more likely movers in Graham Potter’s squad this window.

The 29-year-old has never truly looked settled at Stamford Bridge since his switch from Ajax in 2020.

His career hasn’t quite taken lift off in South West London, but it might propel to a different level in Paris.

Playing alongside Messi, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar is a tantalising prospect for anybody on the planet.

Especially for someone who’s place at his current club is under threat thanks to a wave of new arrivals.

With Chelsea recruiting attacking trio Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Mykhailo Mudryk this month, Ziyech’s spot in the side is certainly at risk of being swept away.

Ironically, the World Cup semi-finalist has arguably been playing some of his best football since the competition and during the January transfer window.

He’s started three of the last five Premier League games, providing the vital assist in the 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.

But this mini-run seemingly hasn’t persuaded him to remain at Chelsea.
