How AC Milan feel about signing Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea with forward yet to score in Serie A

AC Milan signed Christopher Nkunku from Chelsea in the last transfer window, but his move has not worked out so far.

Nkunku is yet to score a goal for Milan in Serie A after seven appearances and has failed to break into Massimiliano Allegri’s starting XI.

His only goal has come in the Coppa Italia against Lecce, so the forward has not met expectations yet.

Would Endrick be a good signing for Chelsea?

Like Enzo Maresca at Chelsea, Allegri is struggling to find room for Nkunku in his first XI, hence his lack of starts this season.

AC Milan have no regrets about signing Christopher Nkunku

Despite an underwhelming start to life in Italy, Milan do not appear to be too concerned about Nkunku at the moment.

According to Calciomercato, Milan’s sporting director Igli Tare has no regrets about bringing the 28-year-old to the club.

Maresca could have found use for Nkunku in the current campaign after watching both Cole Palmer and Liam Delap get injured.

Nkunku needed a fresh start, though, and while things may not be going to plan for him now at Milan, there is plenty of time for the Frenchman to turn his career there around.

Whatever the case, Nkunku’s departure has left the Blues a bit light in the attacking midfielder position. The Chelsea Chronicle has been told that intermediaries recently spoke to Chelsea about Kenan Yildiz’s contract situation at Juventus, so he could be an option for them next summer.

How some of Christopher Nkunku’s stats compare to last season

Nkunku has seen a slight decrease in some key attacking areas since arriving at Milan at the end of August.

For example, the France international is currently averaging 0.7 shots per league game this season, whereas he managed 0.9 last term.

For now, it looks like Milan are going to persist with Nkunku, which makes sense. They paid a lot of money for him, but it is quite obvious that he has not been at his best since his days at RB Leipzig.
