Manchester United’s deal to sign Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta during the summer did not go unnoticed at Chelsea.
Chelsea want over £50m for Armando Broja this month and that valuation is based on the fact that United paid £72m to land Rasmus Hojlund, according to The Telegraph.
In terms of where Broja could end up if he actually does leave Stamford Bridge this month, the same outlet claims that Wolverhampton Wanderers, Fulham and West Ham United are all interested in the forward.
Chelsea’s decision to put a price tag on Broja’s head is a very interesting development.
With Nicolas Jackson currently at the Africa Cup of Nations, the 22-year-old is the only recognised centre-forward in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad. He also signed a long-term contract in September 2022, which was not too long ago.

Chelsea value Armando Broja at over £50m because of Rasmus Hojlund
Like Hojlund, Broja is a young striker with a lot of potential, so you can see Chelsea’s thinking here.
Even so, there is absolutely no chance of the Blues getting £50m+ for the Albania international this month.
First of all, while Broja may have potential, he has not done anywhere near enough to warrant such a high transfer fee. For example, the Chelsea man has only scored one goal in the Premier League this season and is just coming back from a serious injury. It would be such a risk for any club to go out and spend £50m on him.
Secondly, the clubs currently chasing Broja are not United. It is highly likely that they cannot afford to fork out £50m on one player.
Chelsea can try and use United’s deal for Hojlund in negotiations over Broja’s potential sale. But if they are not dealing with a club of United’s wealth, then they are simply not going to get Hojlund-type money for him.
