Nigeria manager Jose Peseiro has raved about the quality of Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who’s reportedly a player Chelsea may target to try sign.

Peseiro, who’s an international boss, is in charge of a Nigeria team that failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar this winter. However, the African country does possess a lot of talented individuals.

In particular, Osimhen is regarded in European football as one of the most exciting rising strikers.

The centre-forward has scored nine goals in 13 games this season for a Napoli side that are running away at the top of the Serie A table right now.

Chelsea target Victor Osimhen

Peseiro has waxed lyical about Napoli’s 23-year-old striker, claiming he’s good enough to play for any team in the world.

“He (Osimhen) scores a lot and he is young. It is certainly not easy, usually a centre-forward finds this level later on, ” Peseiro told Tuttomercatoweb.

“But he always scores goals, at this moment I don’t think I’m wrong if I say that every team in the world wants to buy him.

“He knows how to press, he knows how to score, he knows how to use his body. He would know how to play in all teams.”

90min claimed last month that Osimhen is emerging as a favourite for Chelsea scouts that are looking for a new forward to sign next summer.

It may reportedly take €100million (£87million) to prize him away from Naples, though.

As it stands, Chelsea do have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Kai Havertz and Armando Broja battling it out at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s forward position. Blues loanee Romelu Lukaku is another name to throw into the equation when looking ahead to next year, too.

Osimhen looks tailor-made for the Premier League with his pace, power and quality in front of goal.

He’s a real powerhouse that does use his body well, which is why you can’t help
