Chelsea have now added Giorgi Mamardashvili to their list of transfer targets after Bayern Munich made an approach for Kepa Arrizabalaga.
That is according to the Evening Standard.
So, what is the latest on Kepa Arrizabalaga at Chelsea as Giorgi Mamardashvili is shortlisted? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well, it is said that Thomas Tuchel has now decided to make a move for the Spain international – after struggling to find a replacement for the injured Manuel Neuer so far this summer.
The Evening Standard believe Kepa is keen on a move to the Allianz Arena, and Chelsea are also happy to let him join Bayern Munich after sealing a £25m deal for Robert Sanchez.
However – after also letting Edouard Mendy leave this summer – Mauricio Pochettino plans to replace the Spaniard, with Valencia glovesman Mamardashvili in his sights.

The Evening Standard add that Borussia Dortmund shot-stopper Gregor Kobel is also being considered by the Blues.
In regards to Mamardashvili, the Georgia international has a fixed £86m release clause written into his contract at Valencia, according to The Athletic, which – if triggered – would make him the most expensive goalkeeper in football history.
The 22-year-old also stands at a giant 6ft 6in, so Chelsea would have a major presence in goal if they managed to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
Kepa may have already played final game for Chelsea as Mamardashvili and Kobel are shortlisted
Interestingly, the Evening Standard mentioned that Bayern Munich want an initial loan deal, with an option to buy Kepa on a permanent basis next summer.
Therefore, if the 28-year-old does well in Germany, Tuchel will surely activate that purchase option, meaning that Kepa’s appearance against Borussia Dortmund out in the United States could actually be his final outing for Chelsea.

That is – of course – if a deal gets done before Sunday’s Premier League clash with Liverpool.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Kepa could be following Mendy out of Stamford Bridge.
