Malang Sarr’s agent has admitted that he wouldn’t mind the Chelsea defender switching teams again in the transfer window.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Federico Pastorello suggested that a change of scenery in January for his client might be beneficial.

Sarr has seen numerous parts of Europe since he signed for Chelsea in 2020.

After joining the Premier League side, he was immediately loaned out to Porto, a spell that was underwhelming at best.

He then returned permanently to Stamford Bridge last season, and admirably performed well through patches under Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel clearly did not feel the Frenchman had done enough to warrant a second campaign as a Blue.

The 23-year-old moved to Monaco on loan in the summer, but has failed to fortify his place in the XI.

Malang Sarr cursed by Chelsea

Sarr has made just eight appearances and five starts for the Ligue 1 outfit.

This is clearly not what the centre-back envisaged when he departed Cobham in search of greener pastures.

“In terms of quality, he’s very suitable for Serie A: he’s playing little at Monaco but they’re happy with him, we’ll see if they’ll let him leave as soon as offers arrive, but clearly there’s a bit of disappointment on the part of the boy,” said Pastorello.

“He would have liked to find more space moving from Chelsea. There is a whole second part of the season, let’s see. We will work on it.”

Evidently, Sarr’s mediator is pushing for a switch to Italy, to just tick another country off from the continent.

Serie A is renowned as the birthplace of defenders, so perhaps this could be the fresh setting the Chelsea player requires.
