Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez says he is very happy at the Italian club and that his agent is working on a new deal.

Lautaro Martinez has been linked with a move to Chelsea, with TEAMtalk claiming that the Argentine is one forward who the Blues are considering for January.

But Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano has since relayed quotes of Martinez saying that he intends to sign a new deal at Inter instead of joining Chelsea or any other club.

The Blues have found goals hard to come by this season, so they really look like they could do with a new centre-forward.

Their two strikes against Fulham on Monday were only their sixth and seventh of the Premier League campaign.

Lautaro Martinez happy at Inter Milan

On his future, Martinez said: “My agent is working on my new deal here at Inter. I’m very happy. I give my best for the club and my family also loves being here.

“I can’t see any reason to change and join another club.”

Lautaro Martinez not the priority

It never looked like Martinez was Chelsea’s priority anyway. The No.9 that they keep being linked with is Brentford’s Ivan Toney.

According to the Evening Standard, the Blues are considering making a move for the England international in January.

If last season is anything to go by, then Toney could be a great signing for Chelsea, but so could Martinez.

The 26-year-old is one of the best forwards in the world, already managing to score nine goals in just seven league outings this season.

He now looks set to stay at Inter, though, while Chelsea seem to have other strikers above him on their list.

It is a bit of a surprise that Martinez is not higher on that list, but it probably does not matter with the Argentina international happy in Italy.
