‘Incredible’ 23-year-old will arrive in England on Thursday, about to have his Chelsea medical – journalist

New England Revolution star Djordje Petrovic will arrive in England this week ahead of his Chelsea medical.

That is according to journalist Nizaar Kinsella.

Djordje Petrovic, 23, is strongly tipped to complete a transfer to Stamford Bridge.

The Serbian goalkeeper is expected to become a Blues player soon and play in the Premier League for the first time in his career.

Kinsella has reported earlier today that Petrovic will be arriving in London ahead of his club medical on Thursday.

It is understood that Chelsea have agreed a deal worth £13.5million in total with MLS club New England Revolution.

Kinsella wrote on Twitter: “Djordje Petrovic will arrive in London for his Chelsea medical on Thursday after a £12m + £1.5m in add-ons fee with New England Revolution was agreed last night.”

Robert Sanchez is the only senior option in goal right now for Chelsea, who have said goodbye to both Edouard Mendy (permanent) and Kepa Arrizabalaga (loan) in this summer window.

Soon, Petrovic is set to come in and compete for the starting goalkeeper position at Stamford Bridge.

Described as “absolutely incredible” by current teammate DeJuan Jones, as quoted by Revolution Soccer, Petrovic has grown into one of the MLS’s best gloveman in recent times.

We’re intrigued to see how quickly the 6ft 4in keeper can make a good impression on Mauricio Pochettino and his coaching staff at Chelsea.

The 23-year-old appears to be the latest in a huge line of new signings under this ownership.
