Inter Milan will now turn attention towards Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun after walking away from a deal for Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku.
That is according to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano.
It’s been a whirlwind 48 hours in the Romelu Lukaku transfer saga, which has reached a stage where Italian giants Inter have backed out of the race to sign him this summer.
Gianluca Di Marzio explained yesterday that Serie A club Inter have now informed Lukaku they won’t be taking him back to the San Siro. They are withdrawing their £34million offer and have a lot of anger towards the 30-year-old Blues striker, who has been secretly negotiating a potential transfer with Juventus.
It’s a blow for Chelsea in their attempt to sell Lukaku in this window. However, they may be hurt on two fronts due to the fact Inter are now keen on a Chelsea transfer target.

Romano has explained on Twitter that Inter are set to make their move for Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun.
“Inter will ask for final conditions of Folarin Balogun deal early next week. Balogun is open to permanent move but Arsenal are expected to request important fee,” Romano said.
“Balogun, part of Inter list after Lukaku deal off.”
This comes after speculation this month that Chelsea would like to sign Arsenal’s 22-year-old forward.

Football Transfers has claimed this month that Chelsea have started talks to try sign Balogun from rivals Arsenal.
The Sun previously reported that Arsenal will demand £35million this summer for their highly-rated attacker, who came through the Gunners academy as a boy.
He scored 22 goals in 39 appearances for French top-flight club Reims last season, making a huge impression on Ligue 1 during his year-long loan.
Where will the United States international be playing his football next season, though?
