Inter Milan are reportedly open to selling Nicolo Barella this summer for around €50m (£44m), with Chelsea reigniting their interest in signing the Italian international.
According to CalcioMercatoWeb, the west London side are keeping tabs on the 26-year-old midfielder, alongside Liverpool, with Inter warming to the idea of selling one of their best players amid growing financial issues behind the scenes at the San Siro.
Lauded as ‘extraordinary’ by former Inter manager Marcello Lippi, Barella is one of the best central midfielders in Europe and has been tipped with a move to the Premier League for quite some time, with Chelsea seemingly gearing up their interest ahead of the summer.

With Todd Boehly set to open the chequebook yet again, a world-class midfielder could be brought in to partner Enzo Fernandez and to add competition for N’Golo Kante, with Barella an ideal candidate for such an exciting role in the Chelsea squad.
And with Inter now naming their asking price for the Italian superstar, Chelsea could be quite wise and make an attempt to sign Barella, with £44m a relative bargain for the 26-year-old, who is approaching the prime of his exciting career.
Chelsea signing Barella could be one of the deals of the summer

Overhauling the squad will be Chelsea’s main goal for the summer window, with selling players and reducing the size of the squad the first thing that needs to be done in the market. However, signings will also be key, and landing Barella could be one of the best of the entire window.
As we know, Barella is one of the best midfielders in Europe and a player who could thrive in the Premier League. And with Chelsea in need of a creative powerhouse in their midfield, the Italian fits the bill perfectly for the Blues, with Fernandez an ideal partner for the Inter star.
