‘Interesting one’: Chelsea could still yet make move for 23-year-old striker that loves Drogba – journalist

Chelsea could reportedly still target Napoli centre-forward Victor Osimhen this summer.

According to well-respected journalist Matt Law on the London Is Blue podcast, there’s still a chance that Chelsea may look to sign the Napoli striker during this window.

It is understood that the 23-year-old’s not completely ruled out as a Blues target.

This comes after reports earlier this summer that Thomas Tuchel’s side were eyeing Osimhen as a potential replacement for Romelu Lukaku, who’s now been loaned out for the season to Inter Milan.

Chelsea could target Osimhen

Law suggests that Chelsea may still look towards Osimhen in their pursuit to sign a new No.9.

“It’s an interesting one to keep a little eye on (Osimhen to Chelsea). A person who has a knowledge of Italian football and of Napoli said they still need money,” Law said.

“I don’t know whether that means there could be something to do there [with Osimhen]. It’s probably not worth fully dismissing that Chelsea might have a go at that.”

Osimhen, who scored 18 goals in just 32 Napoli appearances last season across all competitions, is a very impressive forward.

He’s a powerhouse attacker with amazing strength and pace, so it would be interesting to see how the youngster fares in the Premier League.

Incidentally, he previously explained he loved Chelsea icon Didier Drogba when he was youngster.

It’s blatantly obvious that the Blues need a new striker added to their ranks.

Barcelona’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the attacker Chelsea are reportedly trying to sign.

All fans are desperate to see a proven goalscorer join that’s got a great track record in the top division, but even that’s not been enough in recent years to succeed at the Bridge.
