There has been speculation about Chelsea being prepared to let go of defender Malo Gusto.
Malo Gusto only joined Chelsea from Lyon last January, officially arriving at the club in the summer. However, TEAMtalk recently claimed that the 20-year-old was one of seven players that the Blues had made available going into the January transfer window.
But journalist Ben Jacobs has now dismissed the idea of Gusto being sold in his column for Si Phillips Talks Chelsea. “It is not true” he said when discussing the exit talk.
Chelsea paid Lyon £30.7m for Gusto’s services, according to BBC Sport.

Chelsea should not sell Malo Gusto
It makes very little sense for Chelsea to make Gusto available. The Frenchman has only just joined the club, while Reece James is now injured and expected to be out for a while.
Gusto has also not performed that badly when he has played either.
The France international made a mistake after getting a red card against Aston Villa earlier this season, but he has had some good moments as well.
It was Gusto who set up Raheem Sterling’s two goals versus Luton Town to help Chelsea earn their first Premier League win of the campaign.
From what the former Lyon man has shown so far, he has the potential to become quite a dangerous attacking full-back. It probably would not be wise, then, for Chelsea to sell him just yet, especially with James out injured.
It is obviously up to Gusto to prove himself, though, and he will have a great chance to do that in his team-mate’s absence.
Fail to do so, and perhaps Chelsea will consider upgrading on him. But for now, there is not a reason for the club to make him available for transfer. They have to at least allow Gusto to show what he can really do and finish the campaign.
