Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has revealed that he thinks Chelsea should not go out and sign a number of players in January.
As reported by The Express, Jenas has stated that Chelsea must keep the faith in their current young crop, despite the dip in form in recent weeks. He feels that several high profile additions in the upcoming window would only work to Lampard’s detriment.

The former Premier League man feels strongly about the subject and said: ”Chelsea need to decide what they want to be now for the next few years. They’re a team that has won titles and always chased for titles but they’ve got a team full of very good young players who need a year or two to develop into a team that challenges again.
”Do you throw all of that away and just buy stars? There’s no point. Stick with it. Don’t buy players, wait until the summer. Frank needs to keep this core group of players and let them develop and then eventually they will challenge. There’s no point in panicking. It’s ridiculous.”

Following four losses in their last five Premier League matches, there have been calls for Lampard to go out and improve the squad. The Blues risk falling out of the top four if this poor form continues and faces a huge test against a rejuvenated Tottenham Hotspur side this weekend.
It will be interesting to see how Chelsea go about there business in January. Will Lampard listen to Jenas’ advice, or will he splash the cash on some high profile European talent?
