Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, has played down rumours linking the Chelsea midfielder with Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, particularly after a spell when he appeared to fall behind N’Golo Kante and Billy Gilmour for the defensive midfield role.
Chelsea also changed to a 4-2-3-1 system recently, which doesn’t favour Jorginho who specialises as the deepest player in a midfield three.
This season, however, rhe Italy international has made the starting line-up three times, including yesterday’s Carabao Cup defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
Jorginho’s agent also played down rumours from various outlets regarding Arsenal and PSG’s interest in his client.
Santos told 90min: “Jorginho still has a three-year contract with Chelsea, this plus two.
“I (have heard) a lot of talk about Arsenal and PSG in the last few days but the reality is, up to now, no official offer has arrived for the player.
“The transfer market closes on 5 October, but the more time passes the more difficult it becomes to make such an important operation.
“So, at the moment, I can say that it is just rumours.”
Santos also argued a return to Jorginho’s home country could prove difficult in the current market.
“[It’s] hard to see him in Serie A because he has an important salary and a cost that only two or three clubs can afford,” he said.
“Given the situation and type of market we are experiencing, it is difficult to think of an operation of this type with so little time available.”
