The agent of Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has played down rumours linking his client to Juventus but also said he is open to a summer move.
The 28-year-old has been one of the first names on Frank Lampard’s team sheet this season, having featured in 26 of 29 Premier League games Chelsea have played this season.
But, if Chelsea plan to recoup the £50million (potentially rising to £57m) they paid to Napoli for the Italy international in 2018 (Sky Sports), this summer transfer window could be their chance.
Juventus manager Maurizio Sarri is reportedly eager to bring his former midfield maestro to Turin and Jorginho’s agent Joao Santos has not closed the door on a potential reunion.
Santos told Tuttosport: “I don’t know if Juventus want Jorginho, who still has a three-year contract at Chelsea. We’ll see.
“He’s a professional, so if an important team gives him a call, well, why not?”
The agent also believes the financial situation amid the global pandemic would make clubs more lenient on selling their key players.
He said: “I believe that the sale of the most important players will be considered in the case of a sizeable bid.
“Faced with big offers, it would be appropriate to sell your players.
“It will just last a year. Then slowly the system will recover.”
Jorginho signed a five-year contract until 2023 when he joined Chelsea in summer 2018.
