Chelsea are reportedly eyeing Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni as a potential target – and some Blues fans on Twitter believe he could be a great addition at Stamford Bridge.
According to the Evening Standard, the 21-year-old midfielder is someone that’s currently being monitored by the Chelsea scouts.
He’s a talented youngster who’s already a key player for French Ligue 1 club Monaco.
Tchouameni, who joined Monaco in January 2020 from Bordeaux, is a star in the making that’s already performing at a very high level.
The defensive midfielder is an ever-present for his club. Also, he’s already earned three caps for his country France.
It’s quite the statement that he’s already playing for World Cup champions France, especially given the stack of talent available to them in the centre of the park.
Chelsea already own one of them in N’Golo Kante and he’s been considered one of the world’s elite midfielders during the last five to six years. In addition, Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea squad also has Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and summer loan signing Saul Niguez in the centre of the park.

Tchouameni definitely looks like someone that can be a long-term solution in the Blues midfield, if he continues on the same trajectory.
A selection of Chelsea fans on social media believe the Monaco talent ticks so many boxes.
One even described him as “Kante’s heir”, which is understandable given the way that both tackle and read the game so well to intercept.
Here are some Chelsea fans reacting to the Tchouameni speculation:
