Chelsea and their new manager Liam Rosenior could do something very controversial in the transfer window.
Following Enzo Maresca’s exit last week, Chelsea have turned to Rosenior, plucking him away from sister club Strasbourg.
The 41-year-old arrives at the perfect time, with the transfer market open again. However, the Blues are not expected to do much business this month.
Chelsea are certainly backing the new head coach 👀
Thoughts on the contract, Chelsea fans?
In the summer, though, it could be a completely different story as Chelsea reportedly eye defensive additions.

Liam Rosenior on board with plan to replace Robert Sanchez with Mike Maignan
Last year, Chelsea were interested in signing Mike Maignan to replace Robert Sanchez, and it does not look like that interest has gone away.
According to TEAMtalk, the Club World Cup winners want to upgrade on Sanchez and still view Maignan as a potential successor.
The same outlet has also claimed that Rosenior is fully aware of this and is on board with Chelsea’s plans to bring in Maignan or another shot-stopper to replace Sanchez.
Who is Chelsea’s best goalkeeper?
The Spaniard was a key player for Maresca during his time at Stamford Bridge. Maresca stuck by him even when the goalkeeper was receiving criticism for making several mistakes between the sticks.
Sanchez did not miss a single Premier League game under his former manager this season. He had his trust but now needs to prove himself to Rosenior.

Robert Sanchez hasn’t done anything to warrant losing first-team place
If Sanchez maintains the form that he is in from now until the end of the season, it would be very harsh if Chelsea replaced him with Maignan.
The 28-year-old has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League this term, keeping eight clean sheets so far — only Arsenal’s David Raya has kept more.
Maignan is set to be available on a free transfer, making him even more of an attractive proposition. But again, for now, Sanchez has not given Chelsea a reason to replace him. Rosenior should not be hasty and rush into making any big decisions.
