Chelsea may now reportedly be interested in trying to sign Leicester City’s James Maddison.
Maddison, 26, is a talented attacking midfielder currently with the England squad at the World Cup after a huge clamour from Three Lions supporters for him to be included in Gareth Southgate’s 26-man group.
Leicester’s playmaker has been one of the most in-form players in England this season, scoring seven goals and making four assists in 13 Premier League games.
The Foxes reportedly wanted £60million to sell Maddison in the summer amid interest from Newcastle United, so he ended up staying at the King Power Stadium.

Chelsea interested in James Maddison
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Leicester’s attacker is now a player loosely targeted by Chelsea.
He’s made an interesting comment that Maddison may prefer a move to a London club, but is eyeing Champions League football.
When discussing Newcastle interest in Maddison, Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: “Sources told me that James Maddison would rather wait until the end of the season and Leicester are not ruling out a new deal either.
“But from Maddison’s point of view, the reason why he would rather wait is because he wants to know what he’s getting and right now if London’s the preference, and Tottenham and or, more loosely, Chelsea are looking at him, neither of those two clubs can categorically guarantee that they’re heading towards Champions League football for sure next season and Newcastle are in a better form position, but again, who knows whether they’re going to get over the line and get Champions League football.
“I do sense that unless a massive offer is made, Newcastle will struggle to get James Maddison in January.”

Described as “incredible” by Pep Guardiola a few years ago, Maddison has been ripping it up in the Premier League during recent seasons.
He’s a technically gifted individual that would be able to add plenty to any of the top clubs in the country.
The set-piece specialist hasn’t played yet at the World Cup this winter due to injury, but has returned to full training ahead of England’s game tonight against Wales.
Chelsea could definitely do with more goals in their side and Maddison is an intriguing target, but could he fit into Graham Potter’s plans at Stamford Bridge?
