Chelsea captain Reece James has been earmarked by Manchester City as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker in the future.
That is according to Miguel Delaney’s newsletter.
It is understood that Premier League giants Man City have discussed Reece James in previous summers whenever Kyle Walker’s future has been up in the air.
The report says that Pep Guardiola’s side do look as Chelsea’s star player as the perfect replacement at right-back.

Kyle Walker situation
There’s no doubt that Walker, who’s now 33 years of age, is still one of the world’s elite full-backs.
The England international recently signed a new contract that keeps him at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2026, but how much longer will he keep his spot in the XI.
If you’ve watched the rapid defender this season, you’ll guess he’s still got at least a couple more years left at the highest level.
By the time he retires, we’ll be discussing him in the conversation for the best right-back to ever grace the Premier League division.
Reece James must stay put
Of course, we don’t want James leaving Stamford Bridge anytime soon!
The 23-year-old defender’s got a poor record with injuries that he needs to try overcome, but there’s no denying that he’s one of the most special individuals in the Blues squad right now.
His contribution both defensively and offensively makes such a huge difference on Chelsea when he plays.
Speaking via Football.London back in August, Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino described James as a “perfect” player.
We’ll never be surprised to read speculation that the biggest teams admire James, such is his individual quality when he’s fit and firing.
Hopefully, Chelsea’s academy graduate feels happy with his boyhood club to enjoy a long-term stay.
His return from injury in the recent games to the side has given us a big lift!
