Reports have claimed that Manchester United are considering signing former Chelsea defender Marcos Alonso.
According to 90min, the Red Devils are considering the Spaniard after assessing their own options following a recent injury problem in their ranks.
After leaving Chelsea last summer, Alonso moved on to Barcelona, where he went on to taste glory as champions of Spain.

It wasn’t all good times for him though. He frequently came in for criticism for his performances at the back, particularly in Europe as they crashed out of both European competitions.
He sometimes found himself playing centre-back, which given the fact he predominantly excelled as an attacking force for Chelsea is difficult to imagine.
Alonso is currently out of favour at the Nou Camp, and this has reportedly alerted Premier League side United to a possible deal.
United want Alonso
It is fairly common knowledge that Erik ten Hag’s side are looking for a left-back after the recent news that Luke Shaw is set for a spell on the sidelines.
Last night, it was reported that they were linked with the signing of Marc Cucurella in an attempt to fill this very void.

The Spaniard is yet to feature for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in a competitive game this season, and has also struggled for minutes in the very successful pre-season tour of the United States.
Despite the fact that Lewis Hall has just left the club, he does not look like he is close to minutes. This is mainly due to the emergence of Ian Maatsen as a genuine option.
Ben Chilwell is the clear number one at the club, although the Dutchman has certainly staked his claim to be a member of the squad, and this has come at the expense of Cucurella.
