Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has given his reaction to rumours that his former player Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could soon join rivals Chelsea.
Aubameyang, 33, left Arsenal by mutual consent back in February before joining Spanish giants Barcelona.
The centre-forward had an excellent record for the Gunners, scoring 92 goals in 163 appearances for them. He’s netted 13 times in just 24 Barcelona games, too.
However, the Gabon international could be about to make a swift return to London.
It’s been reported that Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel wants a deal finalised soon for Aubameyang, who he previously worked with at Borussia Dortmund. Apparently, the Blues have offered Barcelona €20million (£17million) for the attacker as they bid to finalise the transfer.

Arteta reaction to Aubameyang
Despite a sour end to his Arsenal career, Aubameyang proved to be a massive success in English football.
Arteta has given a fairly muted response on Friday morning when asked about Chelsea’s links to the 33-year-old forward.
“It’s his future and we wish him the best in whatever he decides,” Arteta said about Aubameyang.
When asked if he will go for a coffee with him, Arteta said: “I normally don’t do that with players.”

Mark this date
If Aubameyang completes a move to West London before next week’s transfer deadline, make a note of 5 November in your calendar.
Chelsea will host rivals Arsenal in early November in a fascinating Premier League fixture at Stamford Bridge.
It’s going to be box office stuff if Aubameyang plays and scores against his old team.
