A number of Arsenal fans have come to the conclusion that Chelsea are in the hunt for Leicester City’s James Maddison.
Their verdict was based on a report by Chris Wheatley in Football London, who claimed Arsenal and one other London side have made offers for Maddison.
The update explained the Gunners had submitted a bid to Leicester which included cash and a player in return for Maddison.

He did not mention the other capital city outfit directly, which lead to wild speculation over the mystery suitor.
And many Arsenal fans were left thinking that Chelsea were the most likely candidate to have made a rival offer.
Here’s what fans had to say on Twitter about the Blues potential intrigue:
It’s Chelsea mate he’s said previously that Chelsea have an interest in him

It’s obviously not Spurs, so must be Chelsea.

Permitted Chelsea’s chase of Maddison has validity at all, it would be one of the more surprising transfer stories of the summer.
And there have been plenty.
Stamford Bridge is already pretty well stocked in creative areas without the Foxes man muscling his way in.
The 24-year-old has only been with Leicester since 2018 after he moved from Norwich City for £20m (BBC).

His time at the King Power hasn’t been short of impressive moments, but it’s also been scattered with injuries.
At one stage, Maddison was in the running for a spot in England’s European Championship squad but fell away towards the tail end of last season.

Chelsea really are in no short supply of players in his position, so I think this rumour should be washed away quite quickly.
As much as I rate Maddison, there is little room in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for his services, especially considering he is valued at £60 million (Football London).
But if he did fancy a change of scenery, I’d hope he’d opt for the Blues over Arsenal.
