Chelsea are reportedly about to enter more talks with Dutch giants Ajax about the future of Hakim Ziyech.

According to well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, the Blues will sit down for a new round of discussions with Eredivisie champions Ajax.

It is understood Ziyech is a “priority target” for Ajax just two years after selling him to Chelsea.

Romano explains the 29-year-old winger has held two meetings already with his ex-club in recent days. However, there will now be an actual conversation between the two sides involved.

Romano previously detailed that Thomas Tuchel’s side are happy selling Ziyech.

Chelsea talks with Ajax about Ziyech

Chelsea spent £33.3million a couple of years ago to sign Ziyech from Ajax, but there’s now a chance he could make a return to Amsterdam before the summer transfer window shuts next week.

The left-footed winger is part of a famous Blues group that did win the Champions League. He’s a very talented individual that’s shown he’s capable of magical moments in attack, too.

Unfortunately, the Moroccan has not found the consistency at Stamford Bridge that he showed at Ajax.

He’s got 14 goals and 10 assists in 94 Chelsea appearances, which is massively underwhelming when you look at his ability. As well as the statistics, he can struggle to influence matches at times when he’s on the pitch.

It’s frustrating to think that Ziyech would probably rediscover his best form if he returned to Ajax.

The current system under Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel doesn’t seem to suit him, so perhaps all parties will be happy if a deal can be agreed at a right price.

The Blues need to be very careful about leaving themselves too light in attack, though.
