Enzo Fernandez continues to be linked with a move to Real Madrid after Marc Cucurella joined Jose Mourinho’s revolution, and Xabi Alonso’s new stance has now emerged.
The Chelsea midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Madrid ever since he flirted with the Spanish giants during the March international break. He said he would love to live in the city of Madrid.
Would you get rid of Enzo Fernandez this summer?🤔
Give your reason!
Asked which midfielders he admires, he picked Luka Modric and Toni Kroos. Quite obvious hints he would like to join Madrid, and subsequently, Chelsea banned Fernandez for two matches after his comments.
Now, Chelsea have made their stance known. They do not want to sell Fernandez, but if an offer of £120m arrives, then they will reluctantly allow Fernandez to go. Rumours suggest Madrid are now pushing.
New Xabi Alonso stance emerges on Enzo Fernandez
There seems to be just one obstacle. Having signed Denzel Dumfries, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Cucurella, Madrid are moving quickly in the summer window and Fernandez is now their priority target.

When Alonso was announced as Chelsea manager, reports quickly emerged that he would not want his new club to sell Cucurella or Fernandez. Well, Cucurella is gone and Fernandez is desperate to leave.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca, it is reiterated that Chelsea want £120m for him. While Alonso wants to keep him, they say that Alonso does not want to keep any players who are not ‘fully committed’.
It is quite clear, given his comments in March and that his agent Javier Pastore has been in constant talks with Madrid for months, that Fernandez’s head is turned and is not fully committed to Chelsea.
Enzo Fernandez has agreement in principle with Madrid
The last few days have seen links between Madrid and Fernandez grow, with Mourinho sorting out the defence at the Bernabeu with Konate, Dumfries, Cucurella and a new one-year deal for Antonio Rudiger.
You can only keep one, Enzo Fernandez or Cole Palmer. Who are you choosing?
Tell us who but also why!
Now, the focus looks to have switched to Fernandez. According to reporter Nicolo Schira, Fernandez has an ‘agreement in principle’ with Madrid on a contract until the summer of 2032 with the Spanish giants.
He said on X: “Agreement in principle between Real Madrid and Enzo Fernandez for a contract until 2032. Real Madrid are now ready to submit a huge bid to Chelsea. He wants to leave, pushing to join Madrid.”
Whether Madrid and Chelsea can agree a fee, remains to be seen. It looks as if Madrid are doing their best to reach Chelsea’s price tag and it may require a little bit of compromise from the Blues.
