Chelsea are expected to part ways with Nicolas Jackson this summer, however he may not be heading to the side strongest linked with signing him right now.

Jackson was nowhere to be seen as the Blues returned to Premier League action against Crystal Palace last weekend, and Enzo Maresca confirmed he wouldn’t play against West Ham.

Aston Villa have been strongly linked with Jackson, given that the striker has a relationship already with their manager, Unai Emery, from their time together at Aston Villa.

Despite being interested in a deal, it has been said that they may struggle with the ramifications of a permanent deal this summer.

Nicolas Jackson’s agent pushing for him to join Bayern Munich or Newcastle

This is also the case for Bayern Munich, however it appears they are one of the two sides who Jackson’s agent, Ali Barat, would like to send his player to this summer.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri has stated that he is looking to move Jackson to either Bayern or Newcastle, with both clubs in ‘advanced negotiations’ with the Blues.

He said: “In the coming days, the goal of agent Ali Barat is to transfer Nicolas Jackson either to FC Bayern or to Newcastle United, both ready to meet player’s conditions & in advanced negotiations with Chelsea. As a reminder, Bayern won’t make direct transfer payment. Wait&See.”

Bayern have also registered interest in Christopher Nkunku as he awaits his exit from West London, however again that looks more likely to be a loan at this stage.

Jackson’s biggest critic makes sharp U-Turn

Jackson didn’t completely impress everyone during the two years where he was the go-to striker at Stamford Bridge, with one of his harshest critics being John Obi Mikel.

The former Blues midfielder has been a long-term advocate for the club signing Victor Osimhen, and this led to his criticism of the Senegal international.

However, Mikel admitted he did not want to see Jackson leave this summer, despite that looking inevitable at this stage of the transfer window.

Chelsea look content going into the new season with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap as options up front, and both will have the chance again to establish themselves as the first-choice option against West Ham.
