A section of Chelsea supporters on social media brushed away the claims that Alex Sandro could be one of their summer signings.

Calciomercato claimed that Juventus would use Sandro in a swap deal to sign Blues left-back, Emerson Palmieri.

Here’s how Chelsea fans reacted to the latest transfer update on Twitter:

Emerson has been linked with a move back to Italy for some time, with opportunities in Thomas Tuchel’s team few and far between.

Ben Chilwell and Marcos Alonso are firmly ahead of him in the left-back pecking order, with his only starts this season arriving in the FA Cup or League Cup.

Juventus may look to be offloading their own full-back, with Sandro’s name now up for discussion.

The 30-year-old has been with the Serie A champions since 2015, following a €26m (£22.6m) move from Porto.

He is a five times Italian league title winner, with over 200 appearances for the Old Lady under his belt.

However, Calciomercato report that Sandro’s potential departure might be to simply soften Juventus’ heavy wage bill.

A like for like exchange between Emerson and the Juve defender could save a substantial fee.

In today’s financial market, that would be absolute gold dust for any club.
