Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea and Inter Milan have been unable to come to a conclusion in regards to Romelu Lukaku.
Speaking on the House of Champions channel, Romano explained that conversations had not progressed between the two clubs about what to do with the striker.
Lukaku is in limbo right now.
He left Stamford Bridge in the summer to reignite his career at the team he had left only 12 months before.

The 29-year-old played arguably his best football to date with Inter, firing them to their first Serie A title in nearly a decade.
But he decided to swap the San Siro for South West London in 2021, with redemption and unfinished business on his mind.
Redemption was ultimately not achieved, and the forward returned to Italy on loan with more unfinished business than he began with.
What should Chelsea do with Lukaku?
Having departed Cobham to search for solutions, there is now further questions to be asked about Lukaku’s long-term plan.
Will Inter decide to take him on permanently, or will Todd Boehly make a U-turn and recall Roman Abramovich’s record signing?

Right now, neither option is seemingly being discussed.
“At the moment, there are not even negotiations between clubs because Inter want to make sure that Lukaku is fit in the second part of the season and can make a difference in the second part of the season, then they would be happy to negotiate with Chelsea,” claimed transfer guru Romano.
“But for sure, on the player’s side as he stated in public, but also I am told in private the intention is very clear: he wants to stay at Inter. I think Chelsea are already thinking on different strikers for the future.”
It is true that Lukaku has made his feelings clear about continuing, or rather not continuing, with Chelsea.

Boehly quite blatantly echoed this view by allowing the Belgian to re-join Inter in the first place.
Buying young Ivory Coast attacker David Datro Fofana is also further evidence that the American owner is planning for life without Lukaku.
