Chelsea and Enzo Fernandez are apparently on the same page in terms of organising a transfer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Fernandez has ‘already said yes’ to setting sail for Stamford Bridge, whilst Todd Boehly is ‘now in direct talks with Benfica’ and is ‘ready to offer a huge fee’.
If this report from Romano is anything to go by, it sounds like South West London will have a new face to welcome before too long.
Boehly has evidently identified Fernandez a key figure in the rebuild for the future at Cobham.

The 21-year-old accelerated his stardom to unrivalled heights during the World Cup, not to mention the attention he received from the rest of the globe.
Benfica’s midfielder featured in all seven fixtures in Qatar, but did not start until the final group game.
Lionel Scaloni did make the mistake of leaving the ‘brilliant’ prodigy out of the XI again.
It’s no wonder Chelsea want Enzo Fernandez
Fernandez was as influential in the middle of the park as Lionel Messi was orchestrating the attacks.
After the pair got their hands on the trophy following the victory over France in the final, their efforts were rewarded on an individual level.
Messi was named the player of the tournament, whilst Fernandez earned the competition’s young player accolade.
Both have probably only just overcome the hungover of several days of celebration, but now have fresh reasons to clear their heads.

Whilst Messi must help Paris Saint-Germain finally win the Champions League, Fernandez has his club status to settle.
With Chelsea closing in, he could be on a flight to Gatwick in the next month or so.
