‘One source put it’: Journalist shares what he’s heard about Chelsea and Dusan Vlahovic
Chelsea’s interest in Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly “not significant” at this stage.
According to iLbiancoNero earlier this week, Chelsea’s co-owner Todd Boely is keen on a potential move to sign the 22-year-old Juventus player. The centre-forward is someone that Arsenal are admirers of, too.
Vlahovic, who’s a powerful 6ft 3in striker, has 14 goals in 30 appearances since his move to Juventus at the start of 2022.
The Serbia international has eight goals in 16 caps for his country, so there’s a lot of excitement around how much better the youngster can get.
Chelsea’s interest in Vlahovic
Journalist Ben Jacobs has given a fresh update on the Chelsea transfer speculation involving Vlahovic.
He’s explained that the Blues interest in the highly rated attacker is not as strong as “once source put it”.
Furthermore, Graham Potter’s side are looking at a number of different transfer targets in the forward positions.
Jacobs said on Twitter: “Told both Chelsea and Arsenal interest in Dusan Vlahovic is not significant or, as one source put it, “active”. Both clubs have looked at Vlahovic in the past and Arsenal pushed hard to sign him in January. Lots of clubs keeping tabs but Juve really don’t want to sell.
“Chelsea have a long list of potential targets to ‘replace’ Romelu Lukaku, working on assumption he doesn’t return to Stamford Bridge.”
Forget about it
It seems unlikely that Chelsea would be able to pull off a deal to sign the Juventus frontman, who’s still under contract in Turin until 2026.
There’s no doubt he’s one of the most exciting young forwards around, so it makes sense that people are closely watching him to see how he develops.
He’s getting the chance with a historic club like Juve to be their talisman. Also, let’s see how he gets on with a talented Serbia side at the World Cup this winter.
