Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on his substack that Chelsea have recently registered interest in signing Ghana star Mohammed Kudus.
The 22-year-old certainly did his chances of a big move in the near future no harm with a brilliant World Cup campaign.
Originally featuring as a midfielder for Ghana, moving further forward saw him amongst the goals in the opening two games of the group stages.

A heartbreaking defeat to Uruguay ended any hopes of qualification for the next round, however late drama saw their opponents exit the competition with them.
With a number of European sides interested in a move for the Ajax man, it is perhaps not surprising that the big-spending Blues are putting their name in the hat.
Kudus wanted by Chelsea
Phillips has claimed that the Chelsea have begun the groundwork required to sign Kudus over the weekend.
He said: “At the time, we hadn’t had any information on this at all, but a source has since told us over the weekend that Mohammed Kudus has very much drawn interest from Chelsea, and we are even putting in some groundwork to try and sign him.

“I’m told that he is open to moving to the Premier League from Ajax, but they would be looking for at least £40m for him. His current market value is £12.5m (transfermarkt), and Chelsea would be looking to sign him for much less than £40m. His contract runs out in 2025.”
No doubt looking an exciting player in and arguably quite weak Ghana side, his future looks bright enough to have him at a much bigger side than Ajax.
12 goals in all competitions this season would suggest he has a future in the attack as apposed to midfield, and four goals in six in the Champions League shows he can do it against the very best in the world.
