Cesar Azpilicueta officially completed his move away from Chelsea yesterday.

Cesar Azpilicueta, 33, is no longer a Chelsea player after 11 sensational years at Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish defender leaves as a true Blues legend, winning every piece of silverware during 508 senior appearances for the club.

He’s now sealed a return to La Liga and has been confirmed as an Atletico Madrid player.

The tributes continue to flood in for Azpilicueta following yesterday’s announcement.

Chelsea icons Petr Cech and Didier Drogba have both reacted to the news on social media with heartfelt messages.

“Congratulations and all the best for the future,” Cech posted to Azpilicueta on his Instagram story.

Meanwhile, Drogba wrote on his Instagram story: “You deserve the seat next to the legends of Chelsea.”

You know you’ve done something right at Chelsea if legends like Cech and Drogba are showering your praise.

We think Didier is spot on! Azpilicueta now joins the elite company of the club’s best ever players for what he’s achieved in a spell lasting over a decade.

Speaking of Chelsea legends, Frank Lampard also reacted to Azpilicueta’s exit with a goodbye post.

Azpilicueta’s departure is only going to help lower the average of the Chelsea squad, which is lowering at a rapid rate in the past 12 months.

In fact, we suspect veteran defender Thiago Silva will be the only player over the age of 30 starting regularly next season.

It’s really exciting for supporters to watch what Mauricio Pochettino can achieve with this very young group, but the lack of experience if perhaps a tad alarming.
