Rayan Cherki is now pushing to join Chelsea after hearing that the Blues are interested in signing him from Lyon this summer.
That is according to TEAMtalk.
So, what is the latest on Rayan Cherki? Let’s take a look…
What’s the story?
Well – according to Football London – Chelsea are considering a bid for the French wonderkid, after scouts noticed his talent while looking at Malo Gusto back in January.
Chelsea eventually signed Gusto from Lyon in a £26.3m deal.
Now – according to TEAMtalk – Cherki wants to join his old teammate at Stamford Bridge, and is pushing Lyon to let him sign for Chelsea this summer.
The £28,000-a-week prodigy is currently the subject of talks between Chelsea and Lyon, who are said to have a strong relationship following the agreement to sign Gusto.

TEAMtalk add that Cherki could even be signed ahead of Gabri Veiga – who Mauricio Pochettino allegedly wanted to buy as a replacement for Mason Mount, according to the Evening Standard.
The Lyon No.18 scored five goals and also provided six assists in 39 appearances last season.
Chelsea could secure a potentially world class talent in Cherki
In our view, Chelsea need to take advantage of the fact Cherki wants to join.
The 19-year-old is one of the elite talents in Europe, and is on the cusp of exploding into a genuinely phenomenal player who makes the game look easy.
Cherki has already been described as the best talent to emerge from Lyon’s academy by French news outlet C-News.
That in particular speaks volumes, as Lyon have previously produced the likes of Karim Benzema, Alexandre Lacazette and Hatem Ben Arfa over the years.

Cherki has also been described as an “absolutely phenomenal” ball carrier by Breaking The Lines – something Chelsea have lacked in attacking areas since the departure of Eden Hazard.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as the teenager reportedly pushes to join Chelsea this summer.
