Fulham are growing confident they’ll be able to complete the signing Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi by the weekend.

That is according to a report from Sky Sports.

They claimed on Wednesday afternoon that Fulham have growing optimism they can agree a deal to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi in the next 24 to 48 hours.

It is understood that Marco Silva’s side are now close to finalising a transfer for the 22-year-old attacker, who’s not in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans moving forward at Stamford Bridge.

The report added that personal terms are not expected to be a problem.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed on Twitter a couple of weeks ago that Chelsea are asking Fulham to pay around £8million for Hudson-Odoi this summer.

There’s no word in the report above how much they’ll pay for the England winger, who’s now entering the final year of his contract with the Blues.

The £120,000-a-week (Spotrac) wide player has fallen completely down the pecking order at Chelsea in the past couple of years, which resulted in him being loaned out to Germany with Bayer Leverkusen last season.

Now, he’s set to get a fresh start with a permanent switch to west London rivals Fulham.

In our view, this is a transfer that will suit all parties.

The skilful wide player has never quite lived up to the immense hype that was put on his name as a rising star breaking through Chelsea’s academy, but there’s still plenty of time for the youngster to get back on track.

We couldn’t picture a way for him into the Blues starting line-up under Pochettino. There may be a perfect opportunity for him to shine in the Premier League at Craven Cottage, though.
