Manchester United could look to offload Jadon Sancho in January.

Jadon Sancho was thought to be a player who Chelsea considered signing in the summer transfer window and is now being heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mail, United will look to get rid of the winger if he does not apologise to manager Erik ten Hag after the pair’s fall out.

Another report from the Daily Mail last month claimed that Chelsea did look at Sancho before eventually moving on to Cole Palmer.

United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund back in 2021 for £73m.

United now seem prepared to get rid of Sancho, which is good news for Chelsea if they decide to revisit signing the England international. That seems unlikely, though.

Palmer’s arrival in the summer means they have around four options who can play out wide: the former Manchester City star, Raheem Sterling, Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke.

Christopher Nkunku also spent a bit of time on the left wing during pre-season, while Ben Chilwell has started there as well under Mauricio Pochettino.

Ultimately, then, Sancho probably does not need to be a priority for Chelsea in January.

Never say never, especially considering the fact that the Blues have looked at him in the past. But given the options that Pochettino already has, it would be a bit of a surprise if the club did make a move for the United wide man in the new year.
