Back in 2021, Didier Drogba arranged a meeting between Chelsea and Orkun Kokcu as he pushed the Turkey international towards Stamford Bridge.

That was according to Vole in Turkey – via the Daily Mail.

A move failed to materialise, and Chelsea have been forced to watch on as Orkun Kokcu thrives at Feyenoord – now, he could be moving to the Premier League.

What’s the story?

Well – according to 1908 – Kokcu could follow Arne Slot to Tottenham.

The 22-year-old’s manager at Feyenoord has held positive talks with Spurs about replacing Antonio Conte, with Sky Sports even claiming that the Dutch side are now resigned to losing the 44-year-old to Tottenham.

1908 claim that Spurs have monitored Kokcu closely in recent years, and with Slot now on his way to north London, the pair could join forces at Tottenham.

Of course, some Chelsea fans may not be too bothered about that, as the initial meeting arranged by Drogba happened in 2021.

However, if Kokcu goes on to become a superstar in the Premier League, some at Stamford Bridge may regret the fact that a move never materialised, despite negotiations taking place.

Kokcu could thrive at Tottenham after Chelsea talks

In our view, there is no reason why Kokcu cannot become a big name in the Premier League.

The Turk has enjoyed an excellent season with Feyenoord, scoring 12 goals while also providing five assists from midfield as the Dutch side won their first Eredivisie title in 18 years.

At the age of just 22, Kokcu also captains Feyenoord, which speaks volumes about his leadership skills.

Chelsea were clearly on the trail of a gem as they pursued the Haarlem-born playmaker in 2021, although they could now be forced to watch on as he follows Slot to London rivals Tottenham.

Be sure to keep an eye on the situation, as anything could happen this summer – Chelsea, in our view, may even decide to reignite their interest in Kokcu depending on what Mauricio Pochettino wants to do.
