Mauricio Pochettino is said to be a huge fan of Andre Onana, and is ready to make a decision on Kalidou Koulibaly as Chelsea attempt to sign the Inter Milan glovesman.

That is according to The Sun.

So, what is the latest on Chelsea and Andre Onana? Let’s take a look…

What’s the story?

Well, it is said that Pochettino could now use Koulibaly as bait in negotiations with Inter Milan, who are demanding £55m to sell Onana.

Chelsea are fixated on signing the Cameroon international after his standout 2022/23 campaign at the San Siro, where he kept 19 clean sheets in 41 games to help Inter Milan win the Coppa Italia and reach the UEFA Champions League final.

The Sun add that Romelu Lukaku could also be sent to Inter Milan along with the £300,000-a-week Koulibaly as part of the deal for Onana.

This update is described as a double boost for Pochettino, as it gives the Argentine a way to sign the shot-stopper while also solve Chelsea’s dispute with Lukaku, who is keen to stay in Italy.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that a meeting will take place between Chelsea and Inter Milan soon, where both Lukaku and Onana will be discussed.

Koulibaly & Lukaku for Onana would be great business by Chelsea

In our view, this is not only a double boost for Chelsea if this deal goes through, but even a triple boost as Pochettino finds himself trying to accomadate Levi Colwill.

According to talkSPORT, the 20-year-old has demanded assurances over playing time next season, or else he will push to leave for Brighton after the Seagulls made a £40m bid.

It is currently tricky for Pochettino to promise Colwill game time as Koulibaly, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana, Thiago Silva and Trevor Chalobah make up the centre-back department.

However, if Chelsea can offload Koulibaly to Inter Milan, Colwill can take the Senegal international’s place in the first-team.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as talks for Onana should intensify now the UEFA Champions League final is over.
