One Premier League club are having a difficult time trying to sign a player from Chelsea in these final days of the transfer window.

Fulham are “not prepared to” pay Chelsea’s asking price for Armando Broja and want him for less than £30m in a loan deal with an obligation to buy, journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Substack.

According to Phillips, Fulham have already had one offer for Broja turned down by their west London rivals.

The 22-year-old and Nicolas Jackson are the only recognised centre-forwards in Chelsea’s squad, with the latter currently unavailable because of his participation at the Africa Cup of Nations, but the Blues still seem open to selling the former.

Broja only signed a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge in 2022.

Fulham not prepared to sign Armando Broja from Chelsea in a £30m deal

If Fulham do not want to pay £30m now or at the end of a loan deal, then Chelsea should definitely not be selling to them.

Broja is a young striker who has both potential and Premier League experience. We think £30m is a fair price to ask.

All things considered, Chelsea should probably not sell Broja anyway. They are not blessed with options up front, for example.

Time is running out for them to sign a potential replacement as well, so offloading the Albania international does not make much sense.

Nevertheless, it looks like an option that Chelsea are considering, though something is going to have to give if a transfer is to happen.

The Blues have set their price, but it is quite clear that one of the player’s suitors, Fulham, are reluctant to meet it. There are now only a few days left in this transfer window for the two west London rivals to sort something out.
