Tottenham Hotspur could sell one of their current midfielders to help them raise funds to sign Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.

Chelsea and Conor Gallagher could part ways as his contract continues to run down and, according to The Sun, Tottenham are one club who are interested in him.

The outlet claims that the 23-year-old will not come cheap with the Blues wanting £50m for his services, but Spurs may be able to generate some money by selling Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Gallagher has been a key player for Mauricio Pochettino this season, playing in all but one Premier League fixture.

However, the Argentine has admitted that he is powerless to stop him from leaving Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham could sell Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in bid to sign Conor Gallagher

Like Gallagher, Hojbjerg’s contract is also close to expiring, with his deal up in 2025.

Considering that, it is not a shock to hear that Tottenham could sell him to help them try and bring in Gallagher.

The Englishman is going to appeal to a lot of Premier League clubs. He has been one of the top midfielders in the division this season.

As shown on WhoScored, Gallagher is in the top 10 players for tackles made per game (minimum of 10 appearances).

Ultimately, he could be a very good signing for Tottenham or any other side in the top flight and is a player Chelsea should probably be keeping.

However, it has become quite evident that the England international is an individual that they are willing to get rid of. Given how often he has used him in the current campaign, Pochettino is unlikely to be on board with the idea of selling his midfielder.

Unfortunately for the former Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain boss, though, it does not look like there is much that he can do.
